Interior Design Process

The process of designing a space can be both exciting and challenging. It requires a combination of creativity, technical knowledge, and communication skills. The following is an overview of the steps involved in the interior design process from an interior designer's point of view.

Every space should inspire you to live your best life!

Initial Consultation

The first step in the design process is to meet with the client to discuss their needs, preferences, and budget. During the initial consultation, we will ask the client about their lifestyle, design preferences, and any specific requirements for the space. This is also an opportunity for the client to ask questions and learn more about the our approach to design.

Space Planning

Once we have a clear understanding of the client's needs, the next step is to create a space plan. This involves determining the layout of the space, including the placement of furniture, fixtures, and accessories.

In the initial phase, we provide you with a 2D drawing that represents the layout of your apartment, house, or room. This drawing shows the arrangement of furniture, sanitary fixtures, and electrical appliances. We work together to review at least two proposals and determine the best option that suits your needs.

Concept Development

The concept development phase is where the designer begins to develop the design concept for the space. This may involve creating a mood board or design concept presentation that outlines the overall look and feel of the space.

The designer will consider factors such as color schemes, materials, textures, and lighting when developing the design concept. A mood board is a visual collage that presents the colors, materials, or style direction suggested by the designer based on your preferences and guidelines. It can also include specific solutions and designs that have already been created for other spaces but can be applied to your project as well.

Design Development

During the design development phase, the designer will begin to refine the design concept and develop detailed drawings and specifications. This may include creating floor plans, elevations, and 3D models of the space. We will also specify materials, finishes, and fixtures, and develop a detailed cost estimate for the project.

Moving forward, we offer you the exciting opportunity to visualize your future space through a 3D model. This model provides realistic renderings that depict the final outcome.

We understand that viewing the design in 3D may offer a different perspective than the 2D drawing, so we work on detailed and photo-realistic 3D model, renders of the rooms and also with 360 virtual tour of your house!

Technical Drawings of Installations

During this stage, my focus is on providing you with precise technical drawings that guide the implementation of electrical and plumbing installations. I pay close attention to every detail. We also incorporate convenience and functionality, such as enabling you to control bedroom lights from your bed. At the end of this phase, you will receive technical drawings that include precise socket positions, lighting fixture locations, water and sewage outlet placements, as well as the indoor units of air conditioners and heaters.

In addition to these drawings, we provide instructions (drawings) for the craftsmen involved in the rough construction processes. This encompasses tasks such as wall demolition and construction, plastering works for ceilings and partitions, sub-laying works for flooring, ceramic works for floor and wall ceramics, as well as painting and wallpaper schemes. If you plan to change doors or windows during the renovation, I can create drawings that help you obtain quotes from manufacturers. I also prioritize the energy efficiency of the elements proposed in the design.

Custom Furniture Design

In this phase, we focus on designing custom-made furniture, including wardrobes, kitchens, chests of drawers, shelves, and more, crafted by carpenters. If necessary, the carpenters can also create specially designed items like beds, coffee tables, partitions, or covers for radiators and air conditioners. Your input is valuable in arranging shelves, drawers and hanging rods, since you know best what you intend to store in the new furniture.

The interior design process is a complex and multi-step process that involves a combination of technical expertise and creative vision. By following a well-defined design process, we create spaces that are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing but also tailored to the needs and preferences of their clients.
